Christmas Gift Guide: For her

I do love Christmas shopping - its the opportunity to buy all the lovely things you can't justify purchasing for yourself. However, we all can do with a bit of inspiration, so here are some of my suggestions for when you hit the shops, or the keyboard in the final run-up!

Every girl loves a handbag, and this Be a crocodile-embossed leather tote for Kurt Geiger (£250 Selfridges) is just heaven.

Beauty gifts are always a winner I think, as long as the brand is luxurious, Christmas has to be a treat. Packaging and presentation is also key if you want a beam of delight to cross the face of the recipient. How gorgeous are these gift sets from Reiss and Champneys? The Reiss gold cosmetics bag and the Champneys hampers are gorgeous gifts themselves, let alone the glorious contents. Reiss Beauty Bag £25 and Champneys Relaxation Hamper £35 both from Boots

At this time of year so many of my favourite beauty products have gorgeous festive packaging to boot. Just look at the the gorgeousness that is the Liz Earl Cleanse and Polish tube? This would also fill the leg of any sticking nicely! (£20.75 Boots)

From the numbers of posts I've written on candles, having a loved one pick one out for me would be a lovely gift. The White Company, Jo Malone and Diptique are all firm faves of mine. If in doubt, ask the lady at the counter and they can help you pick out either their best seller or a fragrance they think would suit the age of your gift receiver . Mimosa by Diptyque (£40 SpaceNK) is there best seller and smells divine.

A new pair of slippers is such a luxury and how cute are these pompom pair from Boden? Super soft and squigy my toes would love to be wrapped up in these come boxing day.  £29 Boden.

The personal touch will always get you some kudos. Lots of brands are offering personalisation this year - some messages can be a little cheesy so I’d stick with initials for a more sophisticated lady. This gorgeous leather card holder in navy from The White Company £15 is beautiful and has a slight metallic sheen giving a festive vibe. But having my initials on means it is only for me...

Foodie treats are another good, but if a Fotnums hamper is out of your price range (!) this trio of spiced ginger biscuits, marmalade and berry preserve from Crabtree & Evelyn £15 is a more affordable alternative!
