Nazila Love Glamour Nail Glitz 10% off

A week or so ago I was invited by Nazila Love Glamour to Ghost The Musical at London's Piccadilly Theatre to celebrate the launch of a limited edition of Nail Glitz design to tie in with the show. Before the curtains went up we were treated to a Ghost themed cocktail (mine was called 'Ditto' loved!) and a Nazila Love Glamour Nail Glitz Manicure.

Enjoying my yummy 'Ditto' cocktail
Ghost themed Nail Glitz (£29.99)

The Nail Gliz contain 24 nails in a pack, so you can decide which to use to make a bespoke manicure, or just team one or two of the statement nails with a plain polish to tame it down a notch.

These super-glam stick on nails can either be applied with the included 'stickers' or use nail glue for a longer lasting finish. The nails should last up to a week, but I had to take mine off prematurely as I didn't think they'd be quite right for an interview I had a few days later! They are very long, but you can clip or file down for a more manageable length.

The Musical was amazing - but I will mention more about that tomorrow, with a little treat up for grabs!

Nazila love Glamour have a huge range of Nail Glitz to choose from including GB Rocks with a jubilee meets 2012 Olympics vibe.

Nail Glitz 104 GB ROCKS
To celebrate their collaboration with Ghost The Musical, Nazila Love Glamour is offering an exclusive 10% discount on all orders placed on their website until 22nd June if you enter the code NLG002 when you place an order.

Venus ProSkin

I've always been a Venus girl, there is no doubt that they are designed for women, rather than being a men's razor in pink plastic. This week the lovely ladies at Gillette sent me their new ProSkin range to try out.

Couldn't resist a snap of current Venus Goddess Jo Lo

This includes the five bladed ProSkin Sensitive which aims to reduce pressure and friction to prevent irritation of the skin. I remember when the 3 blade razor was launched an wonder how many we will go up to... However, I've found that it slides across the skin easily and I haven't had the 'plucked chicken' effect which I've ended up with with other razors which have caused skin irritation.

The other razor in the range is the ProSkin Moisture Rich, a triple blade with built in shave gel bars with body butters, great for a super-quick shave as it glides across your skin without the need for layering on the shave gel.

Both razors come with stands, the Moisture Rich being super compact which I love, as it reduces the clutter in my shower (much required).

Venus SatinCare Pure & Delicate Shave Gel, Specially designed for sensitive skin and fragrance free, completes the collection perfectly.

Venus ProSkin Sensitive razor with one cartridge and Showerpod £9.99
Venus ProSkin MoistureRich razor with two cartridges £10.99

Hair extensions

I have always wanted the long, thick flowing curls I was never blessed with. Sadly my hair refuses to grow any longer than shoulder length and I've tried all manner of thickening sprays, serums, shampoos and treatments with limited effect.

The duchess (of Cambs, obviously) is my hair hero, and in the run up to W-day I have realised that the only way to get hair like hers is to fake it.
Kate Middleton hair 300x234 Kate Middleton hair
Being a hair extension 'virgin' I've chatted to my friends about it for months, none of which have ever had them. Their responded have ranged from disbelief that I'm will end up looking like an extra from 'The only way is Essex' to hugely encouraging.

After deliberations with my hairdresser Aimee (at Kasush Cambridge) I opted for some clip in extensions, rather going the whole hog with getting them glued in. This has some serious benefits; as you don't wear the hair everyday it doesn't have to be such high quality, so is at least half of the price. If I hated it I could rearrange or remove it easily and it is less damaging on my natural hair. Seeing as every hair on my hair is precious to me, this was a massive plus! Finally, you don't have to use special shampoos and conditions on your hair.

I bought my extensions at Sally Services where the ladies picked out the perfect shade for me. If you are between shades, get the lighter colour, which you can dye to match (it's harder, and more damaging to lighten).

As soon as I got them home my lovely friend Katharine clipped them in for me, I felt like repunsal they were so long and straight, they looked really fake! (remember Dee from Neighbours?!) so this evening I took them into my hairdresser and she trimmed and styled them for me (for no charge, love her).

The extensions I bought are American Pride Easy Extensions Luxury Edition (£59.99) Colour 4 (Mocha Brown),  which have 9 different clip in sections, with instructions as to where to put them. I wore them to a wedding before I have them cut (pinned up) and they stayed put all day, I was really impressed.

So what do you think? Too TOWIE? x

eXtreme'n easy launch event

Last month saw the launch of nice'n easy's new range, eXtreme'n easy which includes six on trend vibrant shades. With celebrities rocking this look, it's our chance to have a go with them at home.! I've been obsessing over Rhianna's hot red locks, which I could recreate with theFlame Red shade, if I was brave enough! Whilst Jessie J's style could be emulated with the Deep Violet.

I was treated to a blogger's dinner at The Soho Hotel eXtreme'n easy was revealed and we were introduced to our model who has gone from blonde to vibrant red and seen her bookings sore.

nice'n easy's Colour Advisor and celebrity hairdresser, Jonathan Long was also at the dinner and gave his view's on the launch "Vibrant hair colour has been on the increase for years with this trend set to continue. With the new eXtreme'n easy range, you can now achieve this dramatic and intensive look at home yourself".

If my wedding wasn't a few months away (I'm now set upon my chosen shade!) I'd be trying out the rich Espresso Brown. Or if you are a blondie - June will see the addition of Arctic Blonde, just in time for summer.
The yummiest pudding ever...

Shades: Deep Violet, Ruby Red, Cherry Red, Espresso Brown, Vivid Violet, Flame Red
RRP: £5.99

Nails of the day: Rimmel Pink Amazon

This weekend was the beautiful wedding of Joey and Tom. The sunshine was promised and I treated myself to a bright blue Reiss sale number (still avalible online - also in black and white).

I then was debating the nail shade to compliment my dress choice. I reasoned anything pale would be overshadowed by the intense blue of the dress, so I opted for Rimmel's Pink Amazon (£4.59), which I would say is more on the red side of pink, but is a lovely rich shade which also added to my nautical style dress.

The clever brush means that you cover bearly all of the nail in one stroke, and I only needed two coats for a flawless finish.

Cowshed Slender Cow Launch

Luxury brand Cowshed recently added the 'Slender Cow' range to their herd, and I popped into London to celebrate at their Covent Garden spa.

As getting trim and toned was the order of the day, all nibbles were super healthy (minus the super-mini cupcakes, but they were too tiny to count!) and we were spoilt with a mini Slender Cow treatment to check out the range.

The first thing that struck me was the fragrance, the essential oils of sweet orange, grapefruit, ylang ylang and mandarin red transport you to a luxury spa (even when I'm standing in my bathroom...) the next is the mild tingling sensation when you apply the sculpting Serum (the hero product of the range).

The sculpting serum (£36/150ml) is jam packed full of firming ingredients such a seaweed to improve skin tone and help decrease the appearance of stretch marks.
Slender Cow Body Sculpting Serum

I haven't had a chance to try the Detoxifying Body Scrub (£34/250ml), but I have just used one of my regular ones to prepare the skin, although Cowshed's sounds yummy.

The final step is the body butter (£28/200ml), which has the same phenomenal scent as the serum and contains ingredient to aid with firming and conditioning of the skin.

Using daily my skin has felt slightly tighter and firmer but sadly it hasn't melted away my thighs as I was secretly hoping for... Maybe not time to ditch the gym just yet!

imPRESS press on manicure

I've been really enjoying my 'standard' nail varnishes recently, I think it's because I can change the colours so frequently, but last week I finally got round to trying imPRESS press on manicure by Broadway Nails.

Cute 'bottle' packaging
In my excitement to apply, I only skim read the instructions so didn't realise there was a nail preparation wipe that I was meant to use first until it was too last (whoops!) but I did read that I should choose the press on nail for each of my own before I started, and I was surprised that I needed much smaller sizes than I first picked up.

The application is really easy; no messy glue, I just had to pull off the plastic from the back of the nail and pop onto your nail. Then after leaving for half an hour or so I then filed down slightly for a slightly rounder shape and reduce the length for my taste.

application...
View from the back...

I liked the lace and butterfly pattern (Holla) I was sent to try out, but there are a range of 24 other designs and colours to check out. The 'Payback' leopard print looks so much fun!

The blurb says they can last up to a week, and I mine were still going strong four days on, but I took them off early in preparation for a wedding, as the design was right for my outfit.
Removal was easy; peeling off from the side and using a little nail polish remover on the more persistent nails to prevent me damaging my nails!

I'm not the only fan of this product, they are also endorsed by Nicole Scherzinger who says "A women's nails are a great way to express her individuality and unique style. I have people asking all the time where I get my manicues and now the secrets out...Broadway Nails imPRESS"

imPRESS by Broadway Nails are avalible from Boots at £7.99 for plain colours and £8.99 for patterns.

17 Magnetized Nail Polish Lilac

I love nail art, but the my unsteady hands and lack of patients means I'm never going to be successful. Nail polishes with effects offer a more interesting nail look with minimum effort.

I've tried out 17's lastest offering, a polish containing magnetic properties which create a pattern when you hover a magnet over the nail before it dries.

It was relatively easy, as the magnet is within a cap over the lid, which has a finger shaped rest to help you keep it the right height above the nail. However I did manage to end up wobbling, the magnet touching and smudging the nail meaning I had to start the nail over.

As you only apply one layer of polish, a clear topcoat is essential as otherwise chipping is far too easy! I went for the Lilac shade which is a dark purple, but three other shades are currently available, Gun metal (silver/grey), Blue and Teal. Normally priced £5.99/10ml Boots are currently offering a pound off, run down to the shops!
