REN New skincare

At week I popped into town to REN HQ to hear all about their new goodies.

Firstly we were introduced to the Rose Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser* (£16), I'm a massive fan of these sorts of products and was keen to see how it compares to the likes of Liz Earl and Eve Lom. The cocoa butter formula gives a super thick velvety texture that melts into the skin - I like to pop it on when I go into the shower, then use the towelling cloth rinsed a few times in hot water to remove the cleanser a few minutes later. It does leave my skin feeling really clean and soft and will remove all make up, however, it makes me really sad to make the cute cloth dirty with mascara!

The other exciting news from REN was their new V-Cense Youth Vitality Day Cream* (£28) and  V-Cense Revitalisibg Night Cream* (£32). The Night cream was launched first, as an update on REN's Frankincense Night Cream . Containing Vitamin C and Boswellic Acid to reduce free radical damage and boost collagen formation. Both creams smell amazing and have luxurious texture, hydrating the skin and improving radiance. I was a little disappointed at the lack of SPF protection in the day cream, but my time in any daylight during winter mounths is somewhat limited...

These gorge skin treats are available from Liberty, Space NK, John Lewis and M&S.

Mani Monday: Jessica Raspberry

On Saturday I popped to my fav salon The Little Palour in Weybridge for a lash lift (I'll tell you all about it later this week... ) and whist waiting for one of the magic lotions to take their effect, the lovely Natalie offered to spruce up my nails, love her. As I was heading off to The Roller Disco at Vauxhall later that eve I suggested a fun bright shade, but as my peepers had to stay firmly shut Natalie has to choose the shade for me. Luckily she has excellent choice and opted for aJessica polish in Raspberry. I totally love it and have missed the fun bright pinks as  I have been donning dark or muted shades this season. Roll on spring!

Engagement Inspired Mani Monday

With two of my favourite girls getting engaged recently I decided to dedicate this mani Monday to this happy time. Although not rings aren't presented in a little turquoise box, I could resist this Tiffany blue polish from butter Lodon called Poole which I popped on all my nails, bar my ring fingers, which I saved for the super sparklerly Glimmer In The Night from seventeen. It's not obvious from the photos, but this jam-packed polish although mainly small silver and great glitter particles, also contains some larger round glitter pieces which add to the effect.

Current skin care regime: SkinCeuticals

Correct, prevent, protect is the mantra of SkinCeuticals which I have been following for the last couple of months after attending a press event held by the brand.

After listening to all the scientific explaination, I had a one on one with the SkinCeuticals team and to discuss any issues I have with my skin. At a facial I had a while ago the therepist mentioned that I potentially had the very early signs of rosacea, which I mentioned. Due this, I was reccomended to use the Redness Neutraliser* (£69/50ml) as the correct step in my skin care regime. I popped it on that evening and I did really notice a reduction in redness the next morning, but no additional change since then.

As my prevent step, Serum 10* (£60/30ml) containing key ingredients of vitamin C and ferulic acidic protect against free radicals and premature aging of the skin. 4-5 drops of the vicious fiscous fluid is to be patted onto the skin after cleansing and the correct step.

My final step, Protect, is a super SPF 50 Ultra Facial Defense* (£30/30ml) moisturiser containing UVA and UVB filters. Despite this high UV protection and 24 hour hydration, it is really lightweight and non-colgging of the skin. The state if the art UV filters prevent photodamage, pigmentation and collagen breakdown.

Although SkinCeuticals is a pricey brand, you do feel like you are paying for the top class ingredients and scientific research rather than posh packaging (although it does all feel expensive!) and advertising. My skin doesn't really have many problem areas at the moment, but when using Rhee products I do feel like I am investing in my skin for the future.

Mani Monday: Nails Inc Smithfield

Last night I fancied popping a nude on my nails for Mani Monday and in the amazing collection I was given for Christmas from my lovely formed Caroline I spotted what looked like a slightly greyish nude from Nails Inc called Smithfield. I took a quick snap last night, but thought the light was all wrong - but the shade does look a definate nude. But the colour completely changed in daylight.

So I took another snap in the afternoon sunshine and as you can see the colour looked a pale lilac. Luckily I looked both the day and night version!

Which do you prefer?

Superdry:London Collections AW14

This week Men's Fashion has taken over London, with shows for AW14 prior to Milan's Men's Fashion Week starting on the 13th. To be honest with you, I'm not that interested in Men's fashion - mainly because I'm not one and Mr bmb (as well dressed as he is...) isn't really a fashion type.

However, when I received an invitation to attend the Superdry AW14 show which also previewed the ladies' collection my ears pricked.

Held at New Oxford Street's Old Sorting office I arrived with fellow blogger fundamentally flawless and enjoyed bespoke cocktails (served by some very pretty men...) and British influenced yummy canapés such gold leaf foiled 'sausage rolls' and the gourmet 'pork pies' neither of which really resembled there traditional counterparts.

After being ushered through to the catwalk, we spotted the FROW including Samuel L Jackson and Nick Grimshaw before the lights dipped and the show started.

I was excited to see that AW14 retains some of my favourite looks from this season, every foot was ankle booted whislt statement armed coats, leathers and coated jeans stomped the runway.

Although a winter favourite, embellishment was aplenty with a coat hood covered in gold seaquins being one of my favourite pieces of the show.

The show after party followed with Nick Grimshaw (Radio 1 DJ and official British Fashion Council Ambassador) spinning tunes to over 600 guests whist Madison and I discussed our favorite looks and sipped on a few more cocktails... Maybe I could get into men's fashion....

Mani Monday: Bourjois 1 Seconde Gel Mauve Futuristic

Yesterday was the end of all the festivities. As well as being the day before returning to work, I took my Christmas tree and all the decortations down AND removed my festive shellac manicure. Despite being sad that Ruby ritz will not be donning my talons for another year, it does give me the opportunity to show you the lovely polishes I got for Christmas. This weeks' mani was a pressie from my mum, a metallic lilac nude shade by Bourjois. This was also the first time I have tried the 1 Seconde Gel polishes and I am really impresses, just one coat gave full opaque coverage a fit dried relativity quickly too. I also liked the brush, which is wider than normal so you coat your nails speedily, the only issue was that my little finger nail beds are quite narrow, sothe brush waa a bit wider than my nail, so I had to be careful not to cover my cuticles at the same time. The polishes are priced at £5.99 and are available in a wide range of different shades which I am totally up for trying!
