Skiing OOTD

If you’ve seen my instagram feed from last week, you’ll have noticed that I was hitting the slopes in Val Thorens. We went away with Mr BMB’s family, which meant that whilst little Sophie was being fought over and I got to get some hours in on the slopes.

Most of my ski trips have been with Gareth and at least one of his brothers - I love this as they seem to learn the piste map instantly and act as my guides and ski couches for the week along with carrying a backpack full of snacks, extra layers and change of head wear! However they are much better and faster skiers that I am, so learning to vaguely keep up pace-wise has been essential to get a rest!

But as my bro-in-law informs me, its not how good you are on the slopes, its all about how you look at lunch…. so this year my ski stash has had a massive over-haul. Gone are the loose fit ski pants and bright jacket, I’ve gone for all black snug fit pants and jacket from Helly Hansen. The fit has made me feel much more feminine (my father-in-law called me a bond girl, but he does like to flatter….) and the all over black is of course helpfully slimming. Despite the sleek fit, warmth is still super important (I really feel the cold!) and with my base layers I was really snug. I love that the jacket has an built in neck-cosy so you don’t need a scarf that bulks you out.

The whole BMB family had a Helly Hansen update with Gareth loving his new Red ski pants and little Sophie was super snug in her fleece too! I’ll be writing a baby ski holiday post soon with more pics of this toastie fleece in too.

I love the background of the pics of Gareth in his red ski pants, it was a bit chilly outside and little S had come to meet us for lunch, so we kept the shoot short and took my pics lower down later in the week - a bit less picturesque but a happier baby! A big thank you to my little bro-in-law Ryan for taking the pics for me!
