Im not a massive fan of gyms, generally they are just so sterile and soulless. However, Yesterday i was invited to look around The CityPoint Club which, as you may have guessed, is in the heart of the City, super close to Moorgate tube.
Well I am totally jealous of the city slickers as this health club is gorgeous. You descend in the elevator down into the basement of the building to the reception and bar area, where you can see into the ozone pool (which requires much less chlorine, so less drying on your hair and skin and no sore eyes!). Relaxation loungers are in every area, including the most luxurious steam room I've been in. The fish tank filled relaxation room even has zero gravity chairs to chill out in after a hard day at the office... bliss!
At the press event I was treated to a shoulder and back massage (a 60 minute massage is £70), and It really was the best I've had, using Balinese techniques which combine deep tissue massage, pressure point and stretching with Aromatherapy Associates oils. Amazing.
The gym is super high-tech with all of the equipment you would need (I was more interested in the spa though!).
So if you work in the city, I would really recommend taking a look...
